Lida is a Belgium-based artist working primarily with clay, yet her creative process often extends into other materials such as yarn, resin, and metal. Through continuous experimentation, she explores the dialogue between texture, form, and materiality, always seeking to tell a story through each piece she creates.

After a joyful childhood filled with imagination and playfulness, reality struck when I was twelve: I immigrated to another country. It was a big change. Years of trying to adapt to this new environment shaped me as a person, yet I never truly felt a sense of belonging. I was always somewhere in between. In the process of figuring out my life, I unexpectedly discovered clay and it became my language. The material offered me freedom and endless possibilities. Through working with it, I reconnect with my inner child the one who knows what happiness is, and feels at peace. My first collection is about repetition and connection. Repetition and structure were what I needed at twelve to adapt to a new life. They are also deeply rooted in me ā inherited from past generations who lived under a strict regime. Connection, on the other hand, was what I longed for and searched for in this new country. My ceramic tiles are made from recycled clay, a mix that contains all my failures and tears. Those imperfections are transformed into new opportunities and unexpected beauty. By combining all kinds of clay in one bucket, I never know exactly what will emerge. The result is something unique, carrying traces of real life and it tells a story.
My story.
